I spent a year creating over 200 new images that use information design to explore a whole range of subjects visually, from pop to philosophy, all with the mininum of words, natch.

The result is a collection of infographics, knowledge map and data visualisations published this year by HarperCollins.

In the US, the book is called ‘The Visual Miscellaneum: A Colorful Guide To The World’s Most Consequential Trivia”. It’s out Oct 27th 2009. You can pre-order it here:

In the UK, the book is called Information Is Beautiful. It’s out February 2010.

I had the pleasure of teaming up with some brilliant young information designers on the book. They included Always With Honor, Jez Burrows, Dominic Busby, Lee Byron, Alice Cho, Lokesh Dhakar, Nicky Gibson, Christian Lange, Jeremy MacLynn, Barny McCauley, Stefanie Posavec, Phil South, Laura Sullivan and Willow Tyrer.

Man, this book is cool!
